If you have at least five years' higher education and want to work abroad, then the International Corporate Volunteer scheme (Volontariat International en Entreprise or VIE) is made for you. Crédit Agricole Group, the fourth largest hirer of corporate volunteers, can provide you with a rewarding professional experience and give you an opportunity to show off your know-how.
By the end of 2011, the Group reported 170 VIE placements in our entities in the United States, Asia and Europe. The assignments were very varied. While most were in corporate and investment banking with Crédit Agricole CIB, the Group also offered placements in international retail and commercial banking, asset management and private banking.

As required by law, only candidates who have French nationality or are citizens of a country in the European Economic Area (EU plus Norway and Iceland) aged between 18-28, can apply for a VIE placement. In addition to this requirement, our Group reserves VIP placements for candidates with five years' higher education in a business school, engineering school or university. An initial traineeship in the banking sector is an advantage, as are good English language skills.
The hiring process for VIE applicants is centralised in Paris. You apply by posting your CV (preferably in English) on the Crédit Agricole careers website. If your CV is selected, you will have an interview with your future manager (usually by telephone), who will give you more details about the VIE placement in question. If your application is accepted at this stage, you will have another interview with a recruitment manager. If you complete the process successfully, you will be offered a VIE contract.
If at the end of your contract you have successfully carried out your assignments and are interested in joining the Crédit Agricole Group, you may be offered a job abroad or in France, depending on your wishes and whether your profile matches any of the vacancies.
A VIE contract is signed between the successful candidate and Ubifrance, the French international business development agency. Assignments at the Crédit Agricole Group last for a minimum of 12 months and a maximum of 24.
In compliance with Ubifrance's practices, successful applicants receive compensation of between €1,400 and €3,500 per month (tax-free in France) depending on the country. VIE volunteers are covered under public welfare and are entitled to 2.5 days of paid leave per month of assignment.
VIA assignments allow young people to obtain recognised experience and improve their employment possibilities, both in the Group and elsewhere.
